The humidity of the air and the temperature vary from day to day. Rising air cools to the dew point above which level cloud will form. If the air is drier at the surface or the air is hotter when it starts rising, the base of the cloud will be different from the previous day. If the temperature and dew point are the same on consecutive days, the cloud base will be the same.
The height of the cumulus cloud base change from day to day as a result of
variations in the humidity of the lower part of the atmosphere.
This means that when the humidity in the atmosphere is higher, it results to
the visible part of the cloud which is known as the cloud base being
increased(lowered) and vice versa.
The variation is because several factors determine the humidity such as the
temperature, atmospheric pressure etc.
