Plate tectonics is a theory explaining the structure of the earth's crust and many associated phenomena that results from the interaction of rigid lithospheric plates which moves slowly over the underlying mantle. A Tectonic Plate is a massive, irregular shaped of solid rock composed of both continental and oceanic lithosphere. Its size varies from few hundreds to thousand kilometers across.
Major Land forms such as Plateaus, terrain,Mountains, hills and plains are formed by plate tectonics.
volcanoes, island arcs, submarine mountain ranges, and fault lines Earthquakes, Volcanic eruptions and Tsunami's are the events caused because of Plate tectonics.
