In general, people choose to work with facts over values because morality is subjective. There is no such thing as objective morality because each person is their own unique blend or genes and experiences. No two people have led the exact same life. Facts cannot be argued with. They simply are. A fact is objective, and to reject a proven fact is simply not plausible. Values are subjective always.
