After the great accomplishment of passing the Civil Rights legislation, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. focused on economic and labor issues that affected African Americans in the United States. From 1965 to 1968 he supported the demands for better job opportunities for black people. He organized several protests in Chicago. Unfortunately for the civil rights movement, Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated on Aril 4th, 1968.
