John went to the grocery store to buy apples and bananas. The amount of apples in his cart is 7 more than the amount of bananas in his cart. Apples are 4$ and bananas are 2$. If John spent 40$ then how many apples and bananas did he buy

Value of x: 4x+2x= 40$

6x= 40$

x=40÷6

x=5

Quantity of bananas=7×5

=35

Quantity of apples= 1×5

=5
