Woodrow Wilson in his message of war tried to convince citizens of the nation by connecting the word freedom with democracy. It means the country which is free must entail war when threats from another country could be seen.  

Woodrow Wilson explained how the tyranny of the enemy in the nation is increasing and prioritized the peoples' first approach in order to get support and involvement of the US citizens in the war.

Thus, he promoted the concept of traditional liberty strategically to make the nations safe and democratic for all.
