Electromagnetism can't really be seen, heard, or felt most of the time and science can still describe it. Dark matter and gravitons can't be conclusively proven, but can still be described. The 4th dimension is above human ability to process, but can still, to some degree, be described. Science needs objective data/signs, which means that it needs things that can be observed, measured, or tested. Even if by math only.
