Having judicial powers gives the President the authority:
- to appoint Federal Court Judges subject to Senate approval,
- to pardon people convicted of convicted of federal crimes(except in cases of impeachment)
- to grant amnesty to people who might otherwise be subject to prosecution for violation of Federal Law.
- to interpret or bend the law to some extent by ordering selective enforcement of certain laws such as with immigration
- to check the actions of the Federal Court
