wait which year because if it was when we the industrial revolution then because we wanted trade with them if 1940 well prolly because war but if it was the industrial revolution the time was 1904 i think and we wanted to get that sweet trade with them so we sent a massive fleet to show power and to hopefully force trade which worked.
