This novel narrates the lives of different slaves in the slavery time in America thought the different characters’ perspectives. This book is part an allegory of both civil war and the slavery institution in America due to the fact that it tells us about: 1. the story of many slaves and slave owners during 1830’s, 2. The notices, ads and different auctions held during those times- for example the sale of 429 slaves- just as it used to be in Slavery institutions, 3. The causes and effects of different laws created at that time, 4. The two bands that existed among slave owners and their treatments. All in all it allegorizes American society on people’s points of view at that time, it shows the hate and love between the two races, and the pursuits of equality and balance among races.
