Hey there!!

Let's take the number as ' x '

Three times the difference of a number and 5 :

Difference of a number and 5 : x - 5

Three times : 3 ( x - 5 )

This is same as :

1 increased by 5 times the number plus twice the number :

5 times a number : 5x

2 times number a number : 2x

Added : 7x

1 plus the sum : 1 + 7x

Now,

The equation :

[tex]3 ( x - 5 ) = 1 + 7x[/tex]

[tex]3x - 15 = 1 + 7x[/tex]

[tex]4x = -16[/tex]

[tex]x = \frac{-16}{4}[/tex]

[tex]x = -4[/tex]

Hence, the number is -4

Hope my answer helps!
