At the start we have a total of 16 poker chips. The probability of selecting a red chip is below.

[tex] \frac{6}{16} = \frac{3}{8} [/tex]

Now if we took a red chip from the bag, there would only be 15 chips left. Therefore our probability for blue will be out of 15, not 16.

[tex] \frac{3}{15} = \frac{1}{5} [/tex]

Now we multiply the two probabilities to find the probability of the compound event.

[tex] \frac{3}{8} ( \frac{1}{5}) = \frac{3}{40} [/tex]

Our answer is B)3/40
