Question 27
If an altitude is drawn from the right angle to the hypotenuse the legs become geometric means for the hypotenuse and the adjacent segment formed on the hypotenuse.

[tex] \frac{adj.seg}{leg} = \frac{leg}{hypotenuse} [/tex]

[tex] \frac{x}{6} = \frac{6}{12} [/tex]
Multiply both sides of the equation by 6 and you get x = 3

ANSWER: x = 3
