Main idea vs topic

I’m writing an informativ 5 paragraph essay on risks taken by characters in a book we’re reading.

My thesis is - in the non-fiction book The Boy on the Wooden Box by Leon Leyson many risks were taken.

My topic sentence is- The first person that took risks was Leon

But my teacher is asking for a main idea after the topic how would I write that?
