In this activity you will analyse the motion of a block as it is accelerated across a bench by a string attached to a falling mass.
- You will measure the masses of the objects and use a motion sensor with the Logger Pro software to record the motion of the block.
- Arrange the motion sensor so that it records the motion of the block moving away from it.
- Sign In to a computer and open the Logger Pro application.
- Connect the motion detector to a USB port on the computer.
- Right-click anywhere on the position-time graph and Delete it.
- Click anywhere on the velocity-time graph to select it. Use the resizing handles to make the graph as large as possible on the screen.

Go to the Options menu and select Graph Options. Select the Axes Options tab and change the Y-Axis Scaling to Manual. Set the Top value to 2.0 and set the Bottom value to 0 .
